Linsey Seitz Receives NSF CAREER Award

Linsey Seitz has received a National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award, one of the most prestigious honors available to a junior faculty member.  The award will support Seitz’s work developing more durable and effective catalysts for proton exchange membrane electrolyzers, a method of carbon-free hydrogen extraction.  Committing to a minimal use of rare metals and similar materials, Seitz’s work promises a means of processing the hydrogen necessary for large scale, sustainable chemical and fuel production using sustainable energy.  Seitz will also partner with Chicago Public High School teachers to develop new curriculum components and classroom activities meant to foster student engagement and retention of students from diverse backgrounds.  Learn more here.
